Are the four boys who used knives and a machete to slash and murder a nurse and her eleven year-old daughter in their home evil? I would say their souls have crossed over to evil. They had a pact to murder whomever lived in the home, and for no other reason, than just to kill. They slashed off the toes of the little eleven year-old girl in order to torture her. She survived the attack but will never ever emotionally heal from it.

Is Casey Anthony, who most likely murdered her beautiful three year-old daughter Caylee Anthony, so she could go out and party freely –is she evil? Or are her actions evil? What level of evil exists in a soul that is so emotionally troubled and ridden with a history of unresolved child abuse that they commit evil acts? Are they themselves evil, or merely a lost soul?

I don’t like labeling everyone who commits horrible crimes as being “evil” or “sick” because it provides a shield of protection for those who dress nicely, attend church every Sunday, and who happen to be considered upstanding members of the community but are sexually abusing their children behind closed doors. But maybe these people are the most evil of all. They hide their true nature behind superficial pleasantries and social niceties but when no one is around they rape or molest their own children. I think the darkest evil shields itself under the guise of “goodness.”
